Dundee United Preview

There is little doubt that we will need to improve on our first half performance against Hibs if we are to take anything from the game. Our defence was all over the place and it took drastic changes at half time to salvage a point. Given the way United are playing, they will surely not be as generous as Hibs were after the break.

We will be without the services of Gary Bollan, Phil O’Donnell, Steven Craig and David Partridge. Rather worryingly, we might also be missing Stevie Hammell who was substituted after picking up an injury in the mid-week game. If Hammell does miss out, it is possible Kinniburgh could come into the back four and the other three regulars being shuffled around.

David Clarkson has been off form in recent weeks and it would not be beyond the realms of possibility for Terry Butcher to give him a rest. This would result in either Alex Burns or Kenny Wright partnering Scott McDonald up front.

Dundee United will probably be able to call on the services of Barry Robson who missed their mid-week win at Livingston with an ankle knock. They have scored seven goals in their last two games and boast an impressive home record in recent weeks. However, we have triumphed over them on both occasions this season and if we play to our full potential we should have nothing to fear.

It will be an entertaining game and the top six will still be in the balance after a 1-1 draw.
