Dundee United Preview

Prices in the Fair Play Stand at Tannadice are £16/9 in the upper section and £14/8 in the lower section. Given the joy evident on the faces of the travelling fans last week there is every reason to believe that a sizeable support will make the journey for the 3pm kick off.

Captain Scott should be fit
There are no reported injuries to the first team squad though Scott Leitch and Stevie Hammell are recovering from the bruising dished out by Jeffries’ maulers. Hammell’s knock to the shin caused him to watch the midweek Scotland U21 game from the stand whereas his pal McFadden had a run out in the second half.

In the last couple of seasons we have played United on their home patch on five occasions in the league and managed only two points. Is there a chance that we could collect all three points this weekend?

The United fans are not in the best of humour with their manager at the moment and there are rumblings that his jacket will fall off the shaky nail if they lose to us and then to Dundee the following week. Terry Butcher said,” After losing at Celtic I fully expect Dundee United to come out all guns blazing. They have some quality players and everyone will be desperate to bounce back as quickly as possible.”

The chances are that we will start with the same eleven as last week. And in optimistic mood, the FPC forecast will be that the visitors will take all three points. If Leitch has recovered sufficiently to play the full game, if Charlie Miller (looking slow and heavy) is still unable to produce to find last season’s form and if our fans can cheer, sing and encourage the team throughout then a 1-0 win seems a fair bet.
