Dunfermline Preview

Red cards the last time we were at East End Park
The plastic pitch has not hampered either Dundee United or Aberdeen taking a draw and a win from East End Park this season and this poor home form is indicative of the Pars’ troubles. They have based their recent success on a superb home record and since they are now struggling, we will be hoping to halt a run of seven successive defeats at their ground.

Davie Hay is in charge of Dunfermline and his start has not been impressive. Their poor league form, coupled with an embarrassing UEFA Cup exit to Icelandic part timers has left his coat on a decidedly shaky peg already. An early Motherwell goal on Saturday will pour even more pressure on a home side that does not have their troubles to seek.

We will probably be able to name an unchanged side, assuming that David Clarkson is fit after picking up a head knock on Scotland U21 duty. It was not the best international break for David, who also got sent off in Spain. His season has had a slow start and a goal on Saturday would give him a massive boost.

Dunfermline are having problems, we have won three in a row. It’s hard to see a better chance to break our recent bad run so let’s have some confidence – 2-1 Motherwell.
