Dunfermline Preview

It is fair to say that our record at East End Park over the last few years has been nothing short of appalling. We have taken only one draw from recent matches there and despite their inconsistencies, Dunfermline remain a very difficult team to beat at home. Only the Old Firm and Aberdeen have won at EEP this season and we will have to play well to take anything from the game.

Skippy scored a great goal at EEP eariler in the season
The Pars’ last match was against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park and some dire defending cost them a chance of a point. We will be hoping they have not managed to iron out these problems! The loss of Brewster and Crawford has done them considerable damage and they have not seemed to recover from the disastrous UEFA Cup loss at the start of the season.

Brian Kerr is approaching fitness again but he will not be risked at all in this game. The same is probably true for Phil O’Donnell and if Terry follows his usual plan, Barry John Corr will come in between the sticks to protect the knees of Old Man Marshall. With Corrigan still out with his broken hand, it is doubtful that any changes will be made to the outfield side which defeated Hearts.

Dunfermline are without a couple of players due to injury although Georgi Hristov, ex Premiership ‘star’ may get his first start for the club.

With Kilmarnock virtually guaranteed three points (they are away to Livingston), it seems certain that we will need a positive result to keep us in the top six. Matches between the two sides have been tight this season but we will hold onto our top six place – just – for now with a 1-1 draw.
