Fancy A Flutter?

For what is a two horse race, 11-1 on us to win in regulation time is probably worth a flutter. Rangers are an utterly unappealing 1-6 although for superstitious reasons I’ll be sticking a few quid on that. If you fancy extra time, the draw over 90 minutes is going at 9-2.

Correct scores should be avoided if you’re backing Rangers due to some very stingy odds but a ‘Well win could bring a decent return. FirParkCorner’s prediction of 2-1 Motherwell is 33-1 and any win better than that is long odds.

First goal scorer is where the real value lies though with generous odds being given to all in claret and amber. Skippy is shortest at 14/1 whilst Stevie Hammell taking the free kicks could be worth a pound or two at 100/1. The more realistic amongst us might fancy Barry Ferguson at 10/1, especially since he’ll be back on the penalties after Nacho Novo’s recent dismal efforts. You can also back a player simply to score in the 90 minutes and given Richie Foran is averaging a goal a game in the campaign he could be worth a punt at 5/1.

Those gamblers of a slightly more experienced nature may be aware of the potential for a half time winning – full time draw trick. Back Rangers-Draw and Motherwell-Draw with a £1 on each and should either come up, you’ll be £20 better off.

The ultimate get rich quick schemes are to be found in the scorecast betting. You need the first scorer and correct score. For example, a tenner on Partridge scoring first in a 3-2 ‘Well win will make £16,000. That’ll get a few pints in afterwards.

So, good luck to all those having a wee bet. Here’s hoping you have something to celebrate other than a cup win on Sunday night!
