Fir Park for free on Youth Cup Sunday

The Youth Cup is now at the third round stage and 32 of the 78 teams that entered the competition remain. The competition, which was first run in 1984, has never been won by Motherwell.

The U19 squad is but a step away from the first team and with any luck a few of the youngsters on show will make it into the big time, indeed Robert McHugh has already made his make when he impressed against Hibs in the last game of 2007/8 at Easter Road.

Slane, Page and Meechan are worth the watch and those in the know have compared Steven Saunders to a younger Mark Reynolds - praise indeed!

It would be a treat for the lads if a decent crowd were to cheer them on at Fir Park and encourage them to reach the last sixteen. What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Kick off is at 1pm.
