FirParkCorner FC in Leeds

Those of you who have been FPC readers for a while will remember the team's less than successful introduction to the world of internet football. After nearly twenty games, they finally managed a draw and it took a few more outings to secure the first win, a 3-2 struggle over Airdrie. Since then, more teams have been defeated by the ‘mighty' FPC FC but they still retain the ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

This unfortunate knack was particularly evident at the Scottish Cup tournament in May. FPC crashed out with one draw and five defeats, but had they not thrown away two group games, things may have been slightly different. Dunfermline were allowed to steal a draw with the very last kick of the ball after a needless last minute penalty had been conceded and Airdrie beat the team 4-3 despite trailing 3-2 with only a couple of minute remaining.

The WorldNet tournament starts off with a group stage on the Saturday and something else on the Sunday. FPC FC will meet at least three new teams over the course of the weekend - their opening group consists of FPC, Derby, Sheffield Wednesday and QPR B.

Manageress Piglet has put in a lot of effort since the teams creation last year and she has deserves credit for not only persevering with the players, but organising transport all over the country and even acquiring two sets of ‘Well strips. She will be hoping that the team has a successful time on the pitch at WorldNet but no doubt she will join in the certain ‘team bonding' which will inevitably occur on both Friday and Saturday night.

Good luck to all involved!
