First Call up for Motherwell's Partridge

David has become a fixture in the heart of the Motherwell defence since making the switch from Tannadice in 2002. He has formed a solid partnership with NI internationalist Stephen Craigan and now it seems that we could soon be in the proud position of having a back four each with international credentials. Corrigan recently had an outing for the Scotland future squad while Hammell only missed out because of an injury in the warm up.

Partridges no-nonesense style has its strength in his strong tackling and aerial work and it will not be any great surprise to Fir Park regulars to hear that the Welsh have included him in Toshak’s first squad.

Walter Smith has elected not to play on the upcoming international slot and so there is no friendly fixture for the Scotland squad but instead there will be a 'gathering' in Manchester on the 7,8,9 of February.  The squad will be announced on Friday.  The U21s will be facing NI in a friendly.

Well done David.
