Although season 2007/8 has not yet ended plans for the start of next season are already being made. News from south of the border suggests that visits from Wolves and Coventry are likely to figure in our pre-season preparations.

Wolves (who finished 7th in the Championship this season, just missing a playoff) have announced that they will be at Fir Park on Wednesday 23 July for a 7.30pm kick off. Their mini tour will also see them playing Dundee on Saturday 20th and then Kilmarnock on Saturday 26th. Mark McGhee was their manager ten years ago.

Coventry City last played at Fir Park in a friendly in April 1993 when Motherwell won 2-1. According to the Coventry Telegraph the Sky Blues will take on "SPL high flyers Motherwell" as part of their tour of Scotland. No date has been announced for this fixture as yet.

No doubt more information regarding the club's pre season plans will be revealed in the next few weeks but we still have a couple of games left in 2007/8!

The current release date for next season's fixtures is Monday June 16 and the first game of season 2008/9 will take place on Saturday 9 August.
