Fulham next at Fir park

Two draws against Hamilton and Stenhousemuir gave us a little cause for concern but our worries have been somewhat eased by convincing wins at Ayr United and Carlisle. Another win against Fulham on Saturday would have us in a very positive state of mind going into the league opener against Dundee.

The warm up at Carlisle
Fulham are midway through their pre-season warm up and have had mixed fortunes so far with wins over Torquay and Voitsberg cancelling out with defeats by Celtic and Roma. This will be Fulham’s first visit to Fir Park since November 1975 when they recorded a 3-2 victory to progress 4-3 on aggregate in the Anglo-Scottish Cup.

According to Terry Butcher, James McFadden might be able to make his comeback but it is unlikely we will make many other changes. The other switch which might occur is in goal if Gordon Marshall picked up a knock at Carlisle on Tuesday night. Jamie Ewings came off the bench then but if rumours are to be believed, we have an abundance of goalkeeping talent currently on trial ready to step between the sticks.

Fulham will be without Sean Davis but other than that, should be able to field a strong side. Van der Sar, Inamoto, Marlet, Saha and Legwinski can all play a bit on their day and we will need to be on form if we are to earn a result. While the tackles will not be flying in, there should still be enough entertainment on show to ensure a reaonsable afternoon out.
