Goram back at Fir Park?

One old timer will make his return (according to the Evening Times) – Andy Goram returns as goalkeeping coach. He’ll join forces with his old partner Stevie Woods and start coaching new keeper Francois DuBordeaux.

Goram, who has recently departed Oldham (his second spell at his first senior club), has been keeping fit recently by turning out for Uddingston Cricket Club! It is unlikely that he would strain the finances at the club.

On the playing side, the appearance of Darren Jack in a ‘Well strip at Stenhousemuir suggests that he will soon sign for us. The big striker was released from Ross County at the end of last season.

Also in the crowd at the first friendly of the season was a tall, blonde German central defender. Terry Butcher knows a thing or two about the central defensive role and it is possible that he could be wearing the new claret and amber strip soon.

The twenty three year old ex Dundee United defender David Partridge is also likely to join in the next few weeks. The Welshman, on loan to Leyton Orient earlier this year, could help lessen the shortage of defenders given the departure of Messers Strong, Ready and Deloumeaux.

Interesting times ahead!
