Happy Birthday Faddy

He scored a goal at the weekend against Dundee, managed to avoid a yellow card and now has the cup semi to anticipate on Saturday.

James celebrates with his pals
Just another quiet week for the talented striker! James has been recognised a likely lad at Fir Park since his introduction to the club in Jume 2000. His close dribbling skills and cultured left foot allow him to play almost anywhere on the left side of the team. That’s not to suggest that his right foot is only for standing – he scored a goal against Clyde in the cup with a fierce right footed belter from the edge of the box.

Despite the constant speculation about transfer to a ‘bigger’ club he has managed to keep his feet firmly on the ground. His contract with Motherwell has just over two years to run. The nature of the camaraderie in the Fir Park dressing room helps to ensure that he remains focussed on helping the ‘Well avoid the drop this season.

His performance against Dundee, especially in the second half, was reported in several papers as being ‘inspirational’. He has already a collection of full and U21 international caps and even managed to play his part in the winning team at a recent Supporters Association quiz.

Life seems sweet for James at the moment. Let’s hope that a couple of his birthday gifts delayed for a bit – a win in the cup semi on Saturday and a few SPL points to move the team off the bottom of the table will do nicely!

All the best Faddy.
