Hearts Preview

Whilst it is not impossible that we’ll win, Hearts will be strong favourites going into this match. Their league form has been very impressive in recent weeks and our league cup success over them has been the only blip in their record. The Lithuanians who have been brought in, with or without the consent of Robertston, have settled down well. And whining John does not appear to have chucked the dummy out the pram any more than usual with his new employers.

A good day against the Jambos - 6-1!
We made lots of chances against Dundee and this cost us the game. The match against Hibs could have gone either way but we really need to win that type of game to get ourselves back on track. It seems certain that changes will be made although given the options available to Terry, it would be hard trying to guess the exact team he plays. Given the performance of some of the starting eleven on Tuesday, David Clarkson, Richie Foran and Marc Fitzpatrick will all feel they have a shout of a place. One new injury worry we may have is Phil O’Donnell who only managed 45 minutes against Hibs. He’ll no doubt be back in cotton wool and protected for the cup final. If he is not played, our midfield will need to step up a gear to make up for his absence.

Kilmarnock will fancy their chances at leaping us this weekend. They are at home to Dunfermline and no doubt Jefferies will have them well motivated after their Wednesday night thrashing. We have a harder match and despite the possibility of slipping a place, another draw would not be a disaster. Terry Butcher will not be devastated with a 2-2 draw.
