Hibs Preview

We will be looking to pick up points at Easter Road and hopefully avenge Hibs’ 2-1 win at Fir Park earlier in the season. We played fairly well in that match and there was no way the result reflected the play – however, Hibs managed to put the ball in the net twice whilst we squandered several chances.

Indeed, putting the ball in the net has been a problem for us recently. Before the Celtic game, we had gone over five hours without scoring from open play. That has been rectified and with a fully fit Scott McDonald due to return to the side, we should be confident of finding the net at least once.

Hibs have been inconsistent this season, combing some excellent wins with some fairly drab defeats. Their defence seems to be the weak link in the team and we will have a hard task containing their young strike force.

A defeat would leave us isolated in the bottom half of the league and may threaten to drag us down to the edge of the relegation skirmish if results go a certain way. On the other hand, three valuable points will pull us to within touching distance of the top six and could get our season back on track.

We did very well at Easter Road last season, picking up four points from six. There’s no reason not to be confident again this time – 2-1 ‘Well.
