Hibs Preview

The good news has to be that there is every chance Terry Butcher will have both O’Donnell and Leitch back in midfield. ‘Well fans are proud of the developing youngsters in the team but we recognise the need for a few veterans. The return of this pair should restore some welcome experience to the team which played the part of boys against men at Parkhead last week.

We have already lost to Hibs, both home and away, this season though on each occasion by the odd goal. A win on Saturday would be a perfect fillip before the CIS semi on Tuesday. The defence will be boosted by Partridge’s elevation to the Welsh international squad and it may be that others are listed in Friday’s announcements. The scoring drought now extends to five games and it is clear that we need a break in front of goals. Plenty of half chances have been created but the finishing touch has been missing.  Maybe Jim Hamilton will be the answer?

Motherwell’s recent home form had been good (WWWLD) but this will mean little to a Hibs side enjoying a smashing run of form. Riordan seems to be scoring goals for fun at the moment but will not be the only threat. O’Connor and Murray have already found the back of our net this season.

It should be an entertaining game. A large traveling support and a home crowd keen to give our guys a lift ahead of the semi should set the atmosphere afire. All the players have to do is respond. Stick a pound on a 2-2 draw.
