Hibs Preview

Due to the nature of the split this year, this is the third time we’ll take on Hibs at Fir Park. We drew the last match 1-1 and contrived to lose in August sunshine in a game we dominated. The Easter Road contest also went Hibs’ way after Marc Fitzpatrick missed an open goal. All in all, we have probably earned a break against them!

The captain's annoyed with a Hibbee.
But we might have to wait a while longer to get some revenge. Hibs are fresh from a win at Tynecastle and a stunning 3-1 success at Parkhead. However, it is not that long ago they were thrashed 3-1 at home by then bottom dwellers Livingston. Their youngsters can play some great stuff but it is clear that they are beatable.

Whether we have a team capable of taking points from this match remains to be seen. We put in an excellent shift at Tynecastle, perhaps being unlucky not to take the win. The main thing though is that we showed the commitment and attitude needed to give ourselves a chance. After the excellent season we’ve had, it would be easy for the players to turn off. With nothing to play for though we can also relax and enjoy ourselves. Hibs may have more reason to get the win but they are also more likely to succumb to pressure.

Hibs probably won’t change their team from last week whilst we will need to wait and see how the likes of Hammell and McDonald are doing. This game has the potential to be an exciting ninety minutes but if we are without Skippy we probably won’t have the guile to break them down. It won’t be for the lack of effort but Hibs will leave the happier side with a 2-0 win.
