That view should not detract from the hard work and never-say-die attitude that the players brought to the game.  They were all too aware that they were not the better team but to their credit that stuck to the task and got a great reward when goals were scored from our three on target attempts.

“It’s about time we got something we didn’t deserve”, was the starting point for the post match analysis.  He pointed out that we had suffered a setback with the loss of Jennings and that was compounded by the injury to Hammell.  McCall admitted that Inverness deserved to take a 2-1 lead and suggested that he would have been happy to take a point.  “We were poor and they played well”.

Nevertheless the vocal travelling support left the ground for the long trek home delighted that another three points were gained.  Following Hutchison’s headed equaliser before half time they were treated to two goals in front of the away stand.

No one in the ground could have argued that Inverness didn’t deserve the lead when Shinnie scored in the second half but Lasley’s rocket a minute later was a beauty.     That was followed in the closing minutes by Hateley’s free kick.   It was a stunning win and another three points.

We have Celtic at Fir Park for a ludicrous noon kick off on Sunday and a win would give us a six point lead over them.   We might be favourites for that one!
