Inverness Caley Thistle Preview

Inverness, it is not unfair to say, have surprised people. They made a slow start to the season but they are currently sitting proud in 10th, two points above bottom club Dundee. They are still in a relegation battle but if you offered them the current situation at the end of May, there would be partying in the North.

Let's not talk about ICT's last visit...
Their success is largely based on ‘home’ form though. On their proper travels, eight games have yielded only two points and five goals. Whilst we will not be taking anything for granted (they only lost by the odd goal at Tynie, Easter Road and Ibrox), we must be looking for three points.

Scott McDonald is still out for us but Kevin McBride must be approaching full fitness after a couple of games back and his partnership down the right hand side with Corrigan is looking good. There are no fresh worries for us although as always it will be interesting to see if Phil O’Donnell’s creaking body can carry him through another game. Stevie Hammell missed last week with a hamstring injury and it is hard to see him making a recovery quick enough to play on Saturday.

This will be our third match against ICT this season but it will be the first time we take on Craig Brewster as a manager. He has presided over a loss to Hibs and draws with Rangers and Hearts. Not a bad opening to his career and we will need to be fully focused to ensure he does not register his first win against us.

It will be another edgy, tight game but how can you not back us on current form? It won’t be pretty but 1-0 to the Motherwell might be a wise bet.
