Inverness CT Preview

There is no doubt that ICT have been the form team of the last couple of months. They have been winning their home games and frequently getting a point or better on their travels. The only teams to have bested them recently were Celtic and Aberdeen although both of these losses were at the Caledonian Stadium.

Different venue for this trip!
Craig Brewster is doing superbly well as ICT’s manager but he is still a formidable player. He has chipped in with a few useful goals but his all round play is still excellent. Whilst players like Wilson and Bayne are more than capable of doing a good job, it is Brewster who we will need to control first. One boost for us is the absence of Juanjo. The little Spaniard has been well marshalled by our defence this season but he is a dangerous player and his presence in the stand will help us.

Our own team news is unclear. O’Donnell is obviously out but Scott Leitch may not recover after picking up an injury at the weekend. Brian Kerr made his long awaited competitive debut and he might get his first start tomorrow. After the excellent performances of McDonald and Hamilton at Pittodrie, it seems certain that Britton, Foran and Clarkson will all have to settle for places on the bench.

The nature of the league means that not only do Inverness have to beat us, they probably have to win by two goals. If they win by one, we will still have a goal difference advantage of four going into the last day which could prove decisive. Inverness will have to chase the game from the start and continue to attack even if they go 1-0 up. We can take advantage of this and if we can defend well we should be able to escape with our point. 1-1 is not a bad shout.
