The pitch at Harlaw Park failed an inspection on Friday morning - what will we now do with our Saturday afternoon?

The first cup day of the year is a favourite for many 'Well fans so it will be a bitter blow that the match has been postponed. While it is perhaps not surprising, there was reason for optimism with a good forecast at the weekend and the kind gesture of Aberdeen in helping out with work at ground.

There's no away day this Saturday

Alas the elements have defeated the staff working on the pitch and we now have a free Saturday in front of us. It means we can rest up after our game last mid-week though and prepare for another tough contest next weekened when we visit Dundee United on Sunday.

Because of that United game being on Sunday, the rearranged fixture with Inverurie will take place on Wednesday 21 January at 7.45pm. No doubt there will be a flurry of ticket exchanges taking place while others who can't make it will be returning their briefs to the club.

We are at least now guaranteed to be in the fifth round draw which will give us some excitement this weekend - fingers crossed we get a good tie as an incentive to encourage us to do the business against Inverurie!
