James Earns his Chance

Faddy set up the Scotland goal early in the first half by delivering an accurate corner to the head of Stevie Crawford. During the rest of the first half James played his part in the impressive Scotland performance. There were plenty of tricks and flicks from McFadden and there was the feeling that something would happen every time he got near the ball. For much of the game he played on the left wing and sent over some telling crosses.

After the match the manager said, “McFadden stays in the squad for the Germany game. The time is right for him.”

The qualifier against Germany takes place at Hampden on Saturday June 7. Faddy’s last appearance at the National Stadium was in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers. A repeat of the cracking goal he scored in that game will do nicely!

Tickets for the game are on sale at the usual outlets and at Safeway supermarkets (including the shops in Wishaw, Bellshill, Hamilton and East Kilbride and Airdrie). Adult tickets cost from £20.
