Martyn Celebrates
He celebrated his headed goal against Dunfermline (match report) by joking with the bench that the ball had come off his nose. A fortnight ago he made his re-appearance after months of recuperation from a fractured knee cap. He appeared at the post match conference along with fellow scorer Brian Kerr with a wide grin that will probably remain until next week’s match.

Goals from The Kaiser are fairly well spread out and he averages around one goal per season. Last year’s glut of two against both Rangers and Celtic both came in losses at Fir Park.

'Well 6 Hearts 1
In season 2003/4 his ninetieth minute header grabbed a point in a 2-2 draw against Dunfermline and in the season before he scored the fifth as we routed Hearts 6-1.

There were a couple of barren seasons before we reach his opener in claret and amber. It came on April Fool’s day in 2000 (in his fourth month at the club).

So, he’s halfway to last season’s total with plenty of games remaining in 2005/6. Can he break the record and get to three?
