Last Six Games Leaked

Last updated : 15 April 2003 By Firparkcorner

The brouhaha over the last Old Firm game caused the SPL to delay an announcement of the fixtures but the Record claims to have sight of the intended list. Games involving the Mighty ‘Well are :-

Final game last season

April 26 - Partick Thistle (a)

May 3 - Dundee Utd (h)

May 7 - Celtic (h)

May 10 - Hibs (a)

May 17 - Aberdeen (h)

May 25 - Livingston (h)

It is doubtful is we could have arranged them better ourselves. Travelling fans are hardly inconvenienced with relatively short journeys to Firhill and Easter Road so there is every prospect of a high turnout.

Of the games at Fir Park there are two clear advantages. Our fourth league game against Dundee United is on May 3 and we have home advantage. This relegation crunch game should see a bumper crowd and every ‘Well fan should be making every effort to attend. The last two games of the season are also at home, against Aberdeen and Livingston. It’s probable that by then these two sides will be in the safety zone and it may be that they will be concentrating more on the new season rather than the current one.

The Motherwell board must also play their part. They have to do everything possible to fill the stands with claret and amber for the remaining ties at Fir Park. Maybe John Boyle can be persuaded to resurrect the ‘Adults for a Fiver, Kids for a Pound’ scheme!

Come on ye Well!
