Let's Kick It Out

Most of the regulars at Fir Park have never been involved in incidents of a racial nature (either as recipients of abuse or as victims). But we cannot be complacent about this problem. It does exist in football and we should encourage and support any initiative which tries to kick out such behaviour whether it come from the stands or on the pitch.

While acknowledging that inappropriate chants are not a problem at Fir Park, we have to be aware that there are, occasionally, individuals whose remarks or actions are racial in nature. Both the club and the fans have to take responsibility for the atmosphere inside the ground and we have to ensure that swift action is taken to remove spectators who step over the bounds of decency.

We should encourage potential fans from all ethnic backgrounds to come to Fir Park (both as fans and as players) and they should find a welcoming and safe environment as they cheer on the Mighty ‘Well.
