Martyn Corrigan Leaves Motherwell

The Kaiser has been a regular since 1999 and played almost three hundred times for the first team. For many years he was a fixture on the team sheet and had made the number two jersey his own.

Since the new manager arrived over the close season Martyn has made only one appearance (against Raith Rovers in the CIS Cup) and he was given the opportunity of a loan spell at Dundee where he played four times.

It seems that the deal with Kilmarnock was agreed some time ago but, understandably, the announcement was delayed given the sad situation at the club over this last week.

He is quoted on the official site saying, "I love this club and the fans have been absolutely brilliant with me. From the day I arrived they have treated me with respect and supported me through good times and bad and I can't thank them enough for everything".

It is quite understandable that Martyn should take this chance of securing first team action and he will leave with the best wishes of all Motherwell fans. We are scheduled to meet Kilmarnock at Fir Park on February 9 and The Kaiser will receive a heartfelt appreciation of his contribution to the club from all the home stands.
