A packed East Stand
Partick Thistle tanked Kilmarnock 3-0 at Firhill with Alex Burns grabbing a hat-trick. This means that the Jags are now a massive nine points clear of us at the bottom and it is hard to see us making up the three wins required to catch them (at least in the short term!). At Tannadice, Aberdeen took the lead but Dundee United equalised in the before half time. The home side dominated the second half but could not break down the visiting defence. The point they’ve gained means they are five ahead of us. Interesting to note that Aberdeen are now below Partick Thistle, eight points above us.

Livingston scored a very quick goal this afternoon but Dundee managed to fight their way back into things and levelled with a second half penalty. Livvy are seven clear of the bottom.

Dunfermline and Hibs fought out a 1-1 draw at East End Park but that has little impact on us.

We should devote more time to the top of the First Division than the top of the SPL and thankfully the results were a lot better from our point of view. Inverness Caley Thistle scored a late goal to defeat Clyde 1-0 and keep their position at the top of the league. Even more crucially, Falkirk won at St Johnstone in a match that finished ten versus ten. This means that St Johnstone are now twelve points behind leaders ICT and eleven behind second placed Falkirk.

With the questionable SPL stadium rules still in place, this could be a crucial weekend in avoiding relegation!
