Motherwell draw Nancy in UEFA Cup

While Europe's elite may have hit the pub today after the Champion's League draw on Thursday, we were still mixing with some special company at the UEFA Cup draw this afternoon.

First stop on the European tour

Former European champions AC Milan, HSV, Aston Villa and Benfica were all in attendance along with some clubs which would fall into the minnows category.

It was confirmed in the morning that we would be paired with one of Valencia, Club Bruges, Sparta Prague, Manchester City or Nancy and drawn in the third group.

Our name came out beside Nancy-Lorraine and while it will be tough, we do have an outside chance of progressing against the weakest seed in our group.

The first leg will be on September 18 in Nancy with the return being October 2 at Fir Park.
