Motherwell score twice against Livingston

Whether the encounter was fair value for the £12 entry is a judgement that those who attended will have to make but for the players and manager it was another step on the way to the season opener against Inverness.

Laing and Ainsworth got the full workout and the MFC official tweets suggested that it was the winger who dominated the match.  Johnson played for the first hour and it was the two wingers who created the early threats to the Livingston goal.

Half time arrived without any goals and the same eleven were given a further ten minutes to break the deadlock .  Three changes were made and the second goal of our pre-season came when Ainsworth fired a low drive into the corner.

Clarkson came close and, later, Moult headed against the bar but Watt scored the second when he converted a cut back from (who else?) Ainsworth.

Next up will be a jaunt to Northern Ireland for Tuesday's recently arranged match with Sligo Rovers.
