Motherwell to Leave Administration

The great news, seventeen months after the club applied to the court for the protection of interim administration, was accompanied by a couple of surprises. He came to the Centenary Suite straight from a meeting of the board and made it clear that he was delighted to be able to make the announcement to members of the ‘Well Trust.

Good news folks!
It has been agreed that Bryan Jackson would be starting the necessary legal processes immediately and that the club were calling a press conference for Wednesday morning to give details to the media. Bryan would be contacting creditors shortly. He made it clear that he would not benefit financially from the current distribution. It is anticipated that the legal process will take a period of three or four months to complete.

John Boyle said that he would stand down from his role as chairman at the AGM in October in the belief that his taking a back seat will assist in the search for a new buyer. He will continue to have the best interests of the club at heart and he gave several assurances that the club would only be sold to a ‘credible buyer’.

As an indicator that the club is changing direction, Martin Rose, the current Trust chairman, has been offered (and accepted) a seat on the board of the club. This is a welcome move and shows a determination to involve the fans of the club in its future make up.

There followed a question and answer session that lasted around an hour. At the end of his contribution it was clear that the audience of around a hundred appreciated his commitment to the club and the supporters.

So, it looks like we have a future. A new era at the club is about to open and it seems clear that the Supporters’ Trust will play an important part. All the more reason to join the Trust! More details of the meeting will be available on the WellTrust site.

Bryan Jackson has indicated to FirParkCorner that he is willing to come on to the site to answer questions from fans. This is likely to happen in a few weeks.

A look back to Black Wednesday.
