Motherwell U21 Trio in Slovenia

The Motherwell pair of Reynolds and McCormack was joined by Fitzpatrick when Malpas topped up his squad at the start of the week.

They face Slovenia at 2.30 pm local time on Saturday at the Sportni Park, Nova Gorica. They have four points from three games in group six and only the top team is guaranteed to go forward to the play-offs which will deliver entry to the finals in Sweden in June 2009.

The current standings

Manager Malpas has declared his intention to start with an attacking formation and it expected that McCormack will be joined by Naismith and Fletcher in attack. Our man is well used to playing in a three man forward line and he'll provide a big problem for the Slovenian defence.

Reynolds will be handed his usual starting role and Fitzpatrick may find himself of the bench. The team have a huge task ahead of them if they are to have any chance of qualification and a win is essential.

As ever, we wish the team well and hope that they can find a TV to watch the 'big game' as they celebrate a win!
