Motherwell v Falkirk Preview

If we can create as many goal scoring opportunities as were on show in the last hour of the game against ICT then we must be favourites to take all three points. Ladbrokes have us at 8/11 to win and there’s little evidence to suggest that they are in error.

Smith in action last week

Our strikeforce are finding the net regularly (four goals apiece already) and our defence looks more settled as Smith gains confidence between the sticks. Craigan is on a high following his recent international success and Kinniburgh’s return last week was capped with the winning goal.

The team have had an uninterrupted week’s training and the injury list is beginning to shorten. It seems that Fagan will be available though its difficult to see anything but the same starting line up taking to the field at three o’clock on Saturday.

New boys Falkirk have gathered four points to date. Three were gathered against Livingston and a late equaliser earned them a surprise point last week when Rangers visited their new stadium. Nevertheless, they are newcomers to the division and they are playing away from home. It will take more than an inspirational team talk from John Hughes to stop the Mighty Well from climbing the table. A win on Saturday could see us back in the top six.
