MST Quiz Night Success

Last updated : 03 April 2004 By Evenflow

A busy night
A total of thirty-three teams took their seats at eight o’clock for nearly four hours of challenging questions, good banter, raffles, prizes and light refreshments. Rounds covered topics such as sport, general knowledge, Scotland, music, TV, film and others.

Board member Keith Brown hosted the event, and was ably assisted by Dave Wardrobe, Dougie Barr, Alistair Stewart and Martin Rose - their red pens were kept busy.

The Men in Black
The picture flyer was won by "The Cherry Tree A" (Davie Tannahill’s team), The Lyrics flyer was won by "MIB" (Ricky Mullen’s team)

The main quiz results were-;

1st Simple Minds (Gerry McDermott)

2nd Cherry Tree ‘A (Davie Tannahill)

3rd Grandad & the Lads (Eddie Ferguson)

The website question was won by Rickoza.

The Winners
“Gus Moffat was Wells first Sub in a 2-1 defeat by Dunfermline on 13/8/66 in a LC tie at East End Park, Moffat scored the only Well goal that day making him Scottish Footballs 1st goalscoring Sub.”

Although this was more of a social night than a serious fundraiser, we still managed to swell the Trust coffers by about £400. Special mention should go to Davie & his team from the Cherry Tree who donated their prize money (and some extra) back to the Trust. There was also over half-dozen new Trust memberships received, and a handful of Pitch In donations collected as well.
