New Strip, New Sponsor, New Contract

There is official confirmation that Zoom Airlines will be our new sponsor and they have agreed a three year deal worth £200,000. This is marginally more lucrative than our previous deal with The Untouchables. No doubt the company the paints logos on the Cooper and South Stands will be rubbing their hands at the thought of more cash!

Just before you go on your summer holidays, you can invest around £90 in some high quality new Motherwell replica strips. At least hopefully the material is high quality because the design leaves a lot to be desired. The away strip is tolerable with the Zoom logo on a white background flanked by horizontal claret and amber strips. The home effort is quite frankly awful and is without doubt one of the worst home strips I have ever seen. It’s mainly amber with claret panels under the arms but the strip is ruined by a white ‘band’ which seems to have been created simply to host the sponsor’s badge. No doubt the truth will emerge about how we ended up with this monstrosity but if anyone chose this as our first choice new kit, they should be fired immediately.

Scott signs on
But the best news of the days comes courtesy of TribalFootball.com who report that Scott McDonald has agreed a new deal. The papers are just waiting to be signed and the delighted Aussie commented ‘I actually had bigger offers, but after talking with my agents and also my dad, I’m convinced this is the best place for me to develop my game’. If that’s not a ringing endorsement of our club I don’t know what is, let’s hope others follow suit!
