Next up - St Johnstone

'Well fans will be curious to know who is given the place vacated by Murphy.  Jamie made 30 appearances in claret and amber this season and his former team-mates will have to adjust to his departure.  Bob McHugh staked a big claim by adding to his three goals in December with a four goal spree in the midweek U20 game against the Perth Saints.

The new owner of our number 11 shirt is Kallum Higginbotham and he'll be looking for a chance to impress the fans.  His loan spell from Hudderfield was confirmed last week and he is sure to be stripped and ready for the 2.15pm kick off.

The other significant happening at the U20 game was a 90 minute appearance from Saunders.  His recovery from long term injury is almost equivalent to a new signing and the manager will be happy to have an extra option in the back line.

St Johnstone had a decent festive period with draws against United and Inverness then a win over Dundee.  They are now in sixth spot and four points behind us.  Lomas has concerns that Davidson and Craig might be target before the transfer window closes and he has signed Ross County's captain, Brittain, on a pre-contract.  Beattie failed to get a move south after a trial at Notts County and is back with the squad.

Our last meeting, in Perth, produced a convincing 3-1 win.  We failed to score at Parkhead (remember that penalty!) but, that apart, goals have not been in short supply.  There's no reason to expect a drought and a repeat of that 3-1 score may be on the cards.
