The lack of goals at Pittodrie is not a failing of only the home team. Ross County, Hearts and St Mirren have already visited on league business and failed to find the net so the omens don't suggest that a high scoring game will be entertaining the TV audience.
Craig Brown maintains that his team has been playing well (with the exception of last week's draw at Inverness) and he hopes to see them "return to the passing game" this week. He was not pleased with Anderson's red card on Saturday and the club will be hoping for a positive outcome to their appeal. (Update: the appeal was upheld)

Up front they are likely to persist with Hayes and Fraser on the flanks in support of lone striker Vernon in the middle. That combination has attracted some criticism from Aberdeen fans, no surprise given three goals in six games, and they must be looking with some envy at free scoring Motherwell!
The Steelmen have scored six in the last two outings - five of them from Michael Higdon. The wins have given Motherwell a good start to the season and the bonus of a pleasant looking league table.
McCall caused a few raised eyebrows at Dens park last weekend by retaining Kerr and Cummins in the starting eleven but his choices reflect the confidence he has in the younger players who played their part earlier in the campaign. Ramsden will be keen to return to action and Ojamaa will be hoping that his game changing contribution from the bench against Dundee will merit a start.
Our record at Pittodrie since Brown's defection has be spectacular and if we can deliver a good supply to Higdon then we should be able to return home happy with another three points in the bag; 2-1 to the Mighty 'Well.
