Next up - Ross County

However while our trip to Athens is no doubt going to be something special, we also know that putting league points on the board early is the key to a good campaign.  With so little to choose between many sides in the division,  confidence being up is a key factor in grabbing a good position in the early race for Europe.

Ross County will be a very tricky challenge as they look forward to playing their first top flight game and we cannot take them for granted.  Nonetheless, unless several of their players have made massive improvements since we last saw them in the SPL, it is hard to see anything other than a long battle for survival coming up for them.  Ex-Fir Parkers in Dingwall include goalkeeper Michael Fraser, striker Stevie Craig and cup semi final hero Marc Fitzpatrick.  We can only hope he will get a better reception as an opposition player than he did while in claret and amber.

They have a doubt over Rocco Quinn while Kettlewell is likely banned from the midfield having been sent off in Holland.  Our team news is pretty healthy with only Saunders definitely missing out but we may consider shuffling the pack regardless.  Daley has done enough in his showings so far to make a strong case for inclusion while Lasley and Hutchinson may well be protected before Greece.

A draw here would not be a bad result but we can hope our sharpness proves just a little too much for them and we can emerge with a gritty 2-1 win.
