Motherwell
travel to Livingston on Saturday for the first of three games on the road.
A busy
fortnight lies ahead as a couple of midweek fixtures will test the resilience
of the player pool. Jens Berthel Askou’s
habit of squad rotation suggests that Motherwell will be well equipped for the
congestion that lies ahead.
Saturday’s
game against the struggling Livingston side offers an opportunity to strengthen
the hold on fourth place. Motherwell
have become used to the expectation that now follows them as their successful
season grows but they can expect stiff resistance.

Livi’s
solitary league win came back in August and they have become fixtures at the
foot of the table as the long, long winless run continues. Their last outing resulted in a 6-2 loss at
Pittodrie with both Davis Martindale and Jeremy Bokila receiving red
cards.
The
defensive collapse brings to 48 the number of goals conceded by Livingston and
Motherwell will hope to add to that dismal tally.
Motherwell
put four past Kilmarnock last Saturday with four different scorers. There was a first appearance for Eythor
Bjorgolfsson and the travelling fans will expect to see more of the tall
Norwegian striker.
Tawanda
Maswanhise’s scoring exploits have kept him in the transfer window rumour mill
but JBA’s assurance that the club intends to hold on to its talent gives some
reassurance.
A goal in added time was needed to defeat Livingston on Motherwell’s last visit and we hope for a more comfortable afternoon on this occasion. A 2-0 away win will fit the bill.
