No Rest for Some

Stevie Hammell, Stephen Pearson and James McFadden were all included in the under 21 squad to face Iceland on Friday night. Stevie Hammell missed the game with a slight muscle strain while Pearo was an unused sub. The attention was, as ever, focused on Faddy.

Craig Brown and representatives from Arsenal and Leeds were in attendance at Broadwood on Friday night although whether they were there to watch Faddy or someone else is up for debate. McFadden was a diplomatic as ever when talking to the media, saying that he was unfazed by the famous faces in the crowd.

Faddy was certainly involved quite a lot but the final shot was not quite there. The goalkeeper denied him with a good save and he also hit the post when he might have scored.

However, at least he was thereabouts and can take consolation from the fact Scotland won 1-0.

Pearo and Faddy will get a nice jaunt to Lithuania this mid-week and Hammell is likely to be fit for the trip. It would be annoying if Hammell misses out on our match at East End Park and we also need to be concerned about the other pair playing an extra game and having a lot of travelling. On the bright side, it is more experience for them and the chance for them to being some interesting gifts back for their team-mates!
