Partick Thistle Preview

Partick’s first game back in the SPL resulted in a 0-0 draw at home to Dundee United. While they will be pleased to avoid defeat, they might live to regret dropping points against a team that may struggle. From the highlights, United looked to have the better chances although the general consensus seems to be that sharing the points was fair.

Thistle do not seem to have any of their first eleven missing although Jamie Dolan will be kept out of the squad through injury. Stephen Craigen will play in the back three and Alex Burns will probably retain his place up front. This will be the first time the ex-‘Well ‘stars’ have played at Fir Park since they left us.

According to reports, Khaled Kemas and Daniel Sengewald will still be missing through injury. The local press suggest that Derek Adams is still suspended and this will give Kevin McDonald a chance to cement his place in the side.

It is more than likely that we will stick with the team that almost snatched a point at Livi. Not only did they do well and deserve another crack, we do not really have any more players that we could bring in as replacements!

In what will be a very tough season, this has to be classified as a game we should win. Partick have their fair share of solid players, but we should be more than capable of handling their midfield and attack. Patterson and Whyte will be decent in defence but has Stephen Craigen made the jump to being SPL quality? Even so, if we can get Faddy on the ball, it is hard not to see us scoring goals.

It will be a hard fought contest but we should have enough to edge it. 2-1 Motherwell.
