Prediction - Hearts (a)

We visit the happy hunting ground that is Tyncastle on Saturday where we last won during the reign of Queen Victoria. Hearts will be determined to seek revenge for the mauling we inflicted on them in December so will be pressing forward from the start. The new found confidence in our defence will be severely tested during the first 20 minutes in particular. If we concede early we could get buried although of course the last time we played at Tynecastle we were two up and still got buried.

Let’s hope McFadden’s injury does not stop him playing in any games from now until the end of the season. We need him and others to perform to the top of their ability in every fixture to climb out of the danger zone. The last few weeks will have instilled some confidence in the side and I would expect spirits to be high going into Saturday’s game. Hearts are on course for a third place finish in the league and with no cup distractions to worry them they seem to be favourites to clinch that position.

Looks like there should be goals in this one. There have been thirteen scored already in the two fixtures this season (8-5 to Motherwell on aggregate) so of course it is bound to be a deadly dull 0-0 draw.

Hearts 0 - 0 Motherwell
