Lappin's goal and a fine defensive display frustrated the champions and many column inches have been written about the difficulties faced by our opponents. Mark McGhee acknowledged that we were fortunate to escape with all three points but he'll be hoping that we can win on merit on our own pitch.

David Clarkson will miss this one as he completes his two match suspension and Bob Malcolm will miss out following his indiscretion at Parkhead, otherwise there will be a full squad available. The team have had a few days in the Spanish sunshine to recharge their batteries and they'll be determined to grab some positive headlines by showing that the win was no fluke.

The vacancy will be filled by either McGarry or Lasley and we will be able to field a settled midfield quartet. With McCormack and Porter taking care of the forward roles it would be sensible to assume that we'll line up in 4-4-2 formation.

There seems little point in trying to predict the personnel we'll face. Strachan spent the week bemoaning his luck and claiming that they should have won the last five games. In fact they have won only one of their last seven outings and that came against lowly Gretna. Clearly they have lost form and confidence, and we must fancy our chances.

We have a two point and two game advantage over United and Hibs. If we could muster a few more points ahead of the last five post split fixtures then we would be in an excellent position in the race for third spot. There is no reason to suppose that we can't make the best of the home advantage to deliver a repeat performance - 2-1 to the Mighty 'Well!
