Preview: Gretna (a)

Porter's celebration
We are helped of course by the fact we are playing this away game at home and against the worst side in the league. But Gretna have recently changed around half their side and they put in a decent performance at Hibs midweek despite going down 4-2. However, Innes and Collin are both doubtful with knocks and first choice 'keeper Greg Fleming is suspended. We will surely fancy our chances of scoring some goals.

The return of Porter would be a big help in that regard but there is still no word as to his fitness. McLean will definitely drop out of the team for Quinn but serious questions must be asked about the players further up the park. They simply didn't do it against Dundee while Lappin and Smith have contributed an assist and a goal with their limited contributions from the bench recently. It is unlikely wholesale changes will be made but a switch or two to help freshen things up might not be amiss.

In our previous 'away' game at Gretna we were almost embarrassed as it took a highly fortuitous winner to give us the win. Now the points are important but it is also vital that we get back to play the football that was so effective earlier in the season. We have players who can pass, we have players with good movement - we just need to get back to doing the simple things and rely on our quality to come through.

Gretna take over!

Gretna will fight hard but we have three successive games at Fir Park coming up and a good spell would go a long way in helping us finish high in the table. There is no point in pretending this is a do or die game but slipping up here would cast major doubt on our ability to maintain a European challenge. It's time to get going again - 2-0 'Well.
