Preview - Hearts (a)

There are seven games left before the league splits and Motherwell have a bit of work to do if the sixth place is to be reached. We have away games upcoming against both Inverness and Aberdeen but points will be needed from other games to further the cause.

Our squad will be boosted by last week’s win whereas Hearts will be trying to avoid back to back defeats following their 1-2 loss to Aberdeen. The merry-go-round in Gorgie continues to spin and the latest personnel change sees the manager who plunged Dundee into the First Division arise as the new Director of Football. He arrived as Rix’s assistant and is now his boss in the space of a fortnight.

Action from August

Terry has little idea which eleven players we will face (does anyone?) but he may be posed with a few choices himself as Clarkson, Kinniburgh and Paterson seem to be ready for inclusion in the squad after their reserve appearance this week. Last week’s double goal scorer Richie Foran scored from the spot on our last visit to Tynecastle in August and he’ll be keen to add to his tally this week. There’s little to suggest that the starting line up will be anything other than the settled formation which has, at last, recorded its first win of the year.

Credit has to be given to Hearts for their refreshing attitude to pricing for away fans. Gate prices of £15/£10 for adults and £5 for concessions deserves to be rewarded with a full uptake of the allocation. Unfortunately our thanks will not extend to the field of play and there is every chance that we can come away with a point in a 1-1 draw.
