Preview - Rangers (h)

We frequently fancy our chances against the Old Firm and then blow things spectacularly. Rangers have been terrible for much of the last three years yet we have not defeated them since Boxing Day 2003. We are due a win!

We will have our three new signings available assuming clearance arrives in time but it would be harsh to drop Paterson for Murphy in any case. One of Molloy, Keegan or Elliot could replace Clarkson although DC did turn in a good effort against Celtic even if his finishing let him down yet again.

The opening game of 2006-7

Rangers have had injury problems of late but Boyd is back, Burke has been on the bench and now Prso could also be returning against us. Prso has given us a torrid time in the past and Boyd is also no stranger to scoring against us.

A home win will put us almost beyond the reaches of Dunfermline at the bottom and it would, astonishingly, even give us an outside chance of making the top six. We will have to play to our best and hope Rangers have yet another off day. We will probably be happy with another good point after a 1-1 draw.
