Preview Dunfermline (a)

The Pars at Fir Park
Being brutally honest, it should. Dunfermline were lucky to escape relegation late last season and they have struggled again this term. They have only won one match and have scored a mere three goals in six games at home. To compound their problems, they have a few players missing through injury and suspension. Despite our performances being below par (ha!) in recent matches there will be no excuse for anything less than three points on Saturday.

We have not won at East End Park for quite some time now and hopefully Butcher will pick an attacking team this week. Understandably he wanted to keep things tight at the old firm but we must be looking to go out and win this game.

Injury worries still exist with Hammell being added to the list after picking up a knock on Wednesday. Whether he’ll be fit for Saturday remains to be seen. Phil O’Donnell is a doubt (isn’t he always) and the match may be too soon for McBride or McCormack.

Dunfermline are only one point ahead of Livingston at the bottom of the league and Jim Leishman will no doubt have his troops well aware of how vital a win would be for them. However, determination should be no substitute for skill. So long as we go into the game with the right attitude we should have enough to get the win. And we will – 2-1 Motherwell.
