Saunders in Scotland U21 squad

Last updated : 08 May 2012 By Firparkcorner

The defender suffered his ankle injury way back in August.  He lasted only four minutes when the U21s beat Norway 3-0 in Paisley.  It was a long way back but Steven was rewarded with a return to first team action at Easter Road when he appeared for the last few minutes when we played there last month.

There’s every chance that he’ll be in action when we play the last SPL game of the season on Sunday.  Billy Stark will be keen to know how he reacts to some first team action following the long lay-off.  Saunders is now 21 and his opportunities at this level will soon end.

Henrik Ojamaa has been called into the Estonian squad for upcoming games against Croatia, Ukraine, Finland, Latvia or Lithuania & France.

The Scotland game takes place in Bulgaria on Thursday, 31st May 2012, kick-off 6.30pm.
