Since we hosted Celtic on February 27 the groundstaff have been busy encouraging the grass to make a comeback and their results will impress those who have not seen the surface for a month.

At the start of March there was less than 30% coverage of green on the pitch but the pictures show a fine transformation.

The ground was prepared and seeded. Germination covers were used during cold snaps and removed when the sun shone. The sprinkler system was busy compensating for the lack of rain.

The surface is flat, smooth and neither team will be able to use it as an excuse for poor play in the cup replay.
