St Mirren Preview

Scott Leitch makes his comeback
It was unfortunate to have our friendly with Accies called off on Friday night but it may have been a blessing in disguise. We have signed three players and this hastily arranged friendly will give the team an extra game to ‘gel’. We dispatched Stenhousemuir with relative ease last week and St Mirren should be a slightly tougher proposition. That said, they are only an average First Division team and could only manage a draw with Raith Rovers in their opening friendly. While the performance is more important, anything less than a comfortable win will cause eyebrows to be raised.

The new signings should come straight into the side, despite the promising performances of some of our young guys. Stevie Woods will probably retain his place in goal and he’ll be behind a back four. Corrigan is likely to move to the right hand side with the new combination of Partridge and Sengewald in the middle. Stevie Hammell will be on the left.

In midfield, we now have a number of options but three guaranteed starters should be Lasley, Leitch and Pearson. Our strongest eleven will probably have Faddy playing just behind the front two of Kemas and Lehmann but this could vary for tactical reasons. If Faddy played up front, it would allow another ‘water carrier’ – Derek Adams – into the middle.

Dirk come close at Stenhousmuir
The outcome of this game may well depend on how seriously Butcher and the team take things but with the new competition for places, you have to hope that the players will be up for it. Our bench could consist of DuBourdeau, Kinniburgh, Ramsay, Adams and Clarkson or Jack - all players who have a reasonable claim to a first team spot.

The Livingston game is fast approaching and the players will be looking to build confidence. Another clean sheet for Woods and a 2-0 win for the ‘Well is the prediction.

Entry prices are £10 and £5.
