Success for Motherwell Players

McCormack scored Scotland's second of the game five minutes into the second half. At the other end Reynolds played his part in keeping a clean sheet. The result allows us to maintain an interest in the group. The next fixture is against the leaders, Finland, in March and we must win that one to keep the group alive.

Stephen Craigan was kept busy in the mud and rain at Windsor Park as Northern Ireland came from behind to beat Denmark 2-1 in the UEFA qualifier. The pitch was almost unplayable such was the deluge which had fallen earlier in the day but the referee finally allowed the game to go ahead just ten minutes before kick off.

Our central defender will be in Las Palmas on Wednesday with his NI team as they try to score an incredible double over Spain. They still have a chance of qualification but they need to beat Spain and hope that Sweden lose to Latvia.

There are no reports of injuries to any of our players following the international weekend and , Craigan apart, there should be a full squad preparing for next Saturday's game against Kilmarnock.
