Time to bounce back

Ian Dowie's construction 'bouncebackability' was coined to describe a team which could come from a losing position to win. In our case we have demonstrated a knack of bouncing back from a disappointing loss to produce the goods in the next game.

The Tynecastle cuddle

So far as the league campaign is concerned we have lost eight from the twenty two outings to date. There has been only one occasion when consecutive losses were recorded (away v Falkirk 22 December and home v Rangers 26 December) and the recovery from that double defeat was the magnificent performance which saw us overwhelm Dundee United on the dreadful day when Phil died.

The other six losses were immediately followed by important three point wins. Our ability to avoid and mini slump has been a major factor in maintaining our league position. Dundee United, one of our rivals for third spot, had a disastrous December losing five of their six league games.

We can only hope that this bouncebackability can show itself again on Saturday as we try to get back on the rails after the Dundee cup exit. The players will be eager to make amends and with the help of a big 'away' support we should get back to winning ways.
